On Magnetic Island there is heaps to do or you can just go down to the beach at Horseshoe Bay & watch a sunset. However you spend you time on maggie be sure to spend part of it at Bungalow Bay Koala Village.

I was staying at the Village so its a short walk to the Koala Park. You need to book but there are several tours a day.

I obviously expected to see Koala’s but had not read up on everything else on offer – its more fun to be surprised.

As you can see from the pics we got up close & personnel with the animals as the staff told us about them & answered questions. I was just amazed at the way total different animals got close with no biting or hissing.

There are a few crocodiles at the park of varying sizes. We learned how to tell the difference between a salt water croc & a fresh water croc. One has a longer nose. If you ever see one in the wild be sure to stop & ask him which he is.

I fully expected to get up close with a koala on this visit what I did not expect was to hold a croc It was awesome. We were shown the correct way to hold the croc so they stay calm & how to stay calm ourselves.

There are several koala’s in the park – they are all cute & have their own personality. There was also a mother with a baby in her pouch that was so cute. You can pay a little extra which goes towards maintaining the park & get to cuddle a koala.

As if that was not enough we also got to play with some snakes – they make a nice neck tie as long as it does not get to tight.

At the end of the visit we were shown some nasty looking but also cute spiders.

As I said if you visit Magnetic Island you have to save some time for Bungalow Bay Koala Village.
