Bungalow Bay Koala Village – Magnetic Island

July 2011

I was looking forward to seeing Magnetic Island but on the day I had a dose of the flu. After a taking a train, bus, ferry & another bus to get to the far side of  Magnetic Island I was not in a good mood. The staff at Bungalow Bay were great, very friendly & put me in a better mood in no time.

I was booked for an 8 bed bungalow – basically an A frame building – but they were full so I got moved to a 6 bed one. The 6 bed had lockers which was great as the 8 beds did not.

The Bungalow’s are cool, lots of space & also have shower & toilet. The shower was hanging down so it was like being rained on, lots of fun.

There is a campers kitchen as they also have a camp ground but I just went for a short walk to Horseshoe Bay ( something to do with the shape of it )
There is a small general store, a pub, a fish & chip shop & a couple of other place to eat.

The entrance to Bungalow Bay is a big open area with solar panels on the roof. apart from reception that also have a bar & provide meals there.

There is a pool but it was a bit cool for that & the main feature is the Koala park which is a must see.
